Soil Power!

In the fall of 2009 through to the spring of 2010, Soil Power! was Field to Table School's project supporting the development of composting programs in TDSB schools. With funding support from Earth Day Canada, Soil Power! worked on composting issues "from table to field". We recognize that all healthy urban agricultural systems require compost, a nutrient-rich food for the soil.

By turning food scraps and other organic material into compost, Soil Power helped to 'close the loop' of production and consumption, creating an essential ingredient for the rehabilitation of Toronto's beautiful soil. By improving soil quality through composting, we aim to restore local capacity to grow good and healthy food in our schools.... having fun all the while!

Humungous Haiku Content!
Here's couple of the amazing haiku entries we received from students across the GTA who are excited about composting in their schools

It is everywhere,
It is my home, it is safe,
It is the compost
